Golkonda or Golla Konda is one of the most ancient places in Hyderabad, India. It is situated 11km west of Hyderabad. In 13th century Golkonda fort was built by the Hindu Kakatiya kings. In the 16th century, Golkonda was the capital and fortress city of the Qutub Shahi kingdom, near Hyderabad.
